As a lifelong pet-lover and dog-owner, Ted Guarnero understands the important place pets hold in the lives of their owners. Understanding pets’ significance, in Chicago’s pet friendly condominiums but also identifying the difficulty of finding pet-friendly real estate in all of Chicago, Ted Guarnero has made it his personal mission to become an expert on both pet-friendly neighborhoods in Chicago in general and on dog-friendly condos in Chicago in particular.
Having experienced first-hand the frustration of falling in love with a new home in a “pet-friendly” building only to come to find that by “pet”, a building means “cat,” Ted aims to help his buyers avoid the same fate. To that end, Ted has learned the ins-and-outs of pet-friendly Chicago real estate. This means that Ted knows which condos accept more than one dog, which implement weight restrictions and which buildings not to waste a dog-owner’s time with. Ted also has a keen understanding of which neighborhoods have the best dog parks, dog beaches, dog-friendly cafes, bars and stores too.

Wiggley Field, on Sheffield near Wrightwood, is a favorite dog park of many area residents. Not only do the dogs that frequent Wiggley Field come to be good friends with their playmates, but their owners also form bonds. A section of beach at Montrose is designated a dog beach. This sprawling area of sand and water is a special destination for pups and their owners. Dogs frolic and play while owners enjoy time under the sun.
While Wiggley Field and Montrose Beach are two of the most popular dog-friendly play areas in Chicago, the Chicago Park District has designated 13 other spots around the city as dog-friendly too. Since Ted Guarnero loves to bring variety to his dog’s life, he is intimately familiar with each of these dog-friendly parks and neighborhoods. Although the Park District has specifically reserved certain areas for dog playtime, even undesignated areas are impromptu gathering places for dogs and their owners. Check with Ted to get an insider’s scoop on a variety of options for you and you pups.
