The North Halsted neighborhood on the north side of Chicago is a small section of Lakeview East that borders the adjacent Wrigleyville neighborhood. Also referred to as Northalsted by the local business association, North Halsted is also home to a significant portion of Boystown, a popular district in Chicago that was one of the first recognized gay, lesbian, and transgender villages in the United States. In addition, the Wellington Brown and Purple Line “L” stop is just a few blocks south at Wellington and Sheffield for residents in the southern portion of North Halsted. The CTA 8 bus runs north and south all the way down Halsted Avenue which is another option for commuters heading to other downtown Chicago neighborhoods.
