Superman Filming Set for 222 E. Pearson
'Autumn Frost' Invades Pearson on the Park
Filming for the new Superman movie “Man of Steel” is starting today in Chicago’s Loop, but according to many reports, film crews are being very secretive about shoot times and locations throughout Chicago. Security detail surrounding the set won’t even refer to the film as “Man of Steel” and instead use the code name “Autumn Frost” when onlookers ask about what’s being shot. However, with ABC Channel 7 News making this little tidbit public, it’s hard to imagine this tactic will discourage many people hoping to catch a glimpse of Russell Crowe or the filming of actual movie scenes. In any case, if you’re looking for a place to see all the action unfold, be glad that you’re a devoted reader of the SeeChicagoRealEstate blog, as I happen to have some inside information that you may find useful. Being that I happen to live at 222 E. Pearson Street(right behind the Hancock Building in Streeterville), I received word that film crews will be at my building on Friday from 10-5 shooting various scenes around the building and specifically in our parking garage. My first thought was that this is pretty cool and that my building is going to be in a high-profile movie starring Russell Crowe—until I read the fine print. Residents of 222 E. Pearson have also been informed that they’re going to have “limited access” to the garage during this time; which I’m assuming is another “code name” for “using your car on Friday won’t be an option. Make other arrangements.” Hey, looks like I’m starting to catch on to this filming code name business. So if you’re thinking about coming downtown tomorrow to watch the filming of “Man of…”, I mean “Autumn Frost”, be sure to stop by and say hello. If you even want to see a condo or rental apartment at 222 E. Pearson, I can show you that too-just don’t count on getting a glimpse of the parking facility, as we may have “limited access” from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
