Burke's Bacon Bar Opens in Streeterville
With a name like Burke’s Bacon Bar, it’s hard not to be just a little intrigued about David Burke’s latest Chicago installment, which features small, hand-held meat-inspired sandwiches—dubbed “handwiches”—and a great variety of lunchtime sides, soups, salads, and deserts of all kinds. Burke’s Bacon Bar just opened last month and is conveniently situated right next to David Burke’s Primehouse in the James Hotel. So if you’re doing a little shopping on Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile or Rush Street and are in need of a quick and affordable sandwich joint for lunch, Burke’s Bacon Bar may just be your new “go-to” spot. However, given its location in the heart of Streeterville and the close proximity to all kinds of entertainment and nightlife, Burke’s Bacon Bar also caters to the late-night crowd and stays open until 2 a.m. every day except Saturday, which has a closing time of 3 a.m.
Currently, the menu at Burke’s Bacon Bar features 9 Handwiches that range from a braised Beef ‘N Cheddar to a Vietnamese style Bánh mì with chicken-liver bacon salad, bacon, pickled veggies, and no shortage of herbs and limes. Pricing at Burke’s Bacon Bar is certainly favorable, as all handwiches are only $4 each, or 3 for $11. And the sides—which include Pineapple Slaw, Fresh Fruit Salad, Crack Snacks, Sun Chips, and Pretzel Chips are also priced to sell and range between $2.50 and $3.50.
