Brass Monkey, Microdistillery Among New Additions Coming to Fulton Market
More development news for the Fulton Market part of downtown and this time we’re learning about plans for a new restaurant, microdistillery, and event space all at one location. Crain’s first reported that 401 N. Morgan, the address of the new restaurant/distillery combo, which will be called Brass Monkey, was purchased by real estate developer and restaurateur Marc Bushala back in mid-January of this year, but back then, the plans were still somewhat unknown.
Around the time when the news originally broke that 401 N. Morgan had been purchased by Bushala, the plan was to always include space for a 5,000 square foot restaurant and a 20,0000 square-foot event space; but now there seems to bit just a little bit more information available. The Brass Monkey aims to be an American-style brasserie with seating for 140 people, and if all goes according to plan, should be opening sometime in March. The new microdistillery at 401 N. Morgan will be making small amounts of gin, vodka, whiskey, and absinthe and is expected to be in full operation by next May.
Mr. Bushala is a managing partner at MAB Capital Management LLC and owns Untitled, a popular River North restaurant and lounge, as well as the buildings that Epic, Hubbard Inn, and Public House call home.
