Divvy Bikes ChicagoIt’s hard to miss all those bright blue Divvy bike stations popping up around Chicago, and according to the company website, the fleet is now up to 4,000 bikes spread out across 400 stations all over the city. There’s no doubt Chicago’s new bike sharing system is an affordable and convenient form of transportation for many local residents, but not all share the same enthusiastic outlook about the Windy City’s trendy new bike rental program. Lakeview Taco FestDespite Chicago hosting dozens of creative, fun-filled street fests every summer and fall, local residents around town always seem to want more when it comes to imaginative outdoor entertainment. Well, to the delight of many, it seems the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce has listened to those cries and is set to launch the inaugural Sam Adams’ Lakeview Taco Fest on September 21-22.

This one-of-a-kind festival will take place on Southport Avenue between Addison and Southport and run from noon to 10 p.m. each night. Along with some delicious taco creations from a variety of local restaurants and bars, the Sam Adams’ Lakeview Taco Fest will also feature live music from six local Chicago funk, pop, and classic rock bands.

West Loop Park Over the Expressway

Chicago’s hottest restaurant scene? Check. All the best loft buildings? Check. Google? Check. If you think the West Loop has reached its peak and there’s nothing left that could make this part of downtown Chicago even more desirable and trendy, you obviously haven’t heard the latest development plan which involves building a 3-block suspended park over the busy, heavily traveled Kennedy expressway.

The unique park space being discussed could be a joint effort between two local development firms, SMDP Studio and Fifield Companies, which is proposed to be an 8-12 acre space between Washington Boulevard and Adams Street in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood.
