Chicago Real Estate ClichesIf you’ve ever searched for a home or condo for sale in Chicago, then you of course have scanned through dozens of home listings on the MLS. And contrary to what the property description reads for each home, not every condo in Chicago sits on a “quiet tree-lined street” or is an “amazing opportunity.” We see clichés in many aspects of life, but because I work in the business every day, I seem to get a kick out of real estate clichés the most. Real estate clichés exists for every market, but I’ve listed a few below that I tend to see most in downtown Chicago:

Back in 2008, Chicago passed a “Dog Friendly Dining” ordinance, which allows dogs in outdoor dining sections,

A South Loop Condo-Market Revival on the Way?

South Loop Condo Market In a great article from Crain’s Chicago Business, it appears there will be a new attempt to revive the struggling South Loop condo market-a segment that was arguably hit the hardest during the recent housing crash. Related Midwest, a division of Related Companies of New York, has acquired nearly 500 unsold condominium units in three separate South Loop high-rises in an attempt to re-market and jump start condo sales in the neighborhood once again.

But what seems most intriguing about the latest plan from Related Midwest is that renting out some of these condos doesn’t appear to be an option. As stated in the Crain’s article, Curt Bailey, President of Related Midwest, believes that occupying a building with
