What began as basically a landfill created by debris left over from the Great Chicago Fire in 1871, has become one of the most glamorous and desirable neighborhoods in the world.
Streeterville is the area of downtown Chicago that begins where Lake Michigan meets the Chicago River. It extends north to East Lake Shore Drive and Oak Street Beach. It is bordered on the east by Lake Michigan; on the west by that Magnificent Mile, Michigan Avenue.
