Most of Belmont Gardens is filled with residential side streets and a quiet, peaceful lifestyle. Some local restaurants and neighborhood businesses line Pulaski Road and Belmont Avenue, but most residents love Belmont Gardens for the non-commercial aspect that continues to please families living in the area. Just east of Pulaski, on Diversey Parkway, is the large green space of Kosciuszko Park. Also across the Metra rail is the smaller Ken-Well Park, which provides many of the same park amenities and can be accessed from nearby Wellington Avenue.

The nearest CTA "L" stop to Belmont Gardens is the Belmont Blue Line stop, at the corner of Belmont and Kimball Avenue, just a few blocks east of Pulaski. The Logan Square Blue Line is also nearby which lies at Milwaukee and Kedzie Avenue; but if the bus is your choice of transportation, the 53 runs north and south down Pulaski, while you can catch the 74 bus at Fullerton and Pulaski which offers a convenient east/west route across Fullerton. The Healy Metra station is also located at Fullerton and Pulaski which takes commuters to Deerfield, Fox Lake, and the Chicago Union Station stop.
