Just like the other Blue Line stops heading north towards O’Hare, the Belmont Blue Line subway opened in 1970 as part of an extension of the Blue Line to Jefferson Park on the Kennedy Expressway. The Belmont Blue Line services much of the diverse Avondale neighborhood. Real estate surrounding the CTA Belmont Blue Line stop consists mostly of brick bungalow homes, vintage apartment and condo buildings and even some modern new construction residences that are popular among today's Chicago homebuyers.
