RIVER NORTH ENTERTAINMENT & OUTDOOR AMENITIES

River North is home to over 100 art galleries, nearly 20 antique outlets, and the largest assortment of restaurants in all of Chicago. In fact, The River North Gallery District, primarily along Superior and Huron streets between Wells and Orleans, is the largest collection of art galleries in the entire nation with the exception of Manhattan. Favorite dining spots in River North include Union Sushi & Barbeque Bar, GT Fish & Oyster, Mastro’s Steakhouse, and Japonais, but the list of ethnic restaurants and café’s seems to continue on and on. The main focal point in outdoor amenities, aside from the river walk along the Chicago River, is Durso Park, a small outdoor space nestled on North Hudson Avenue.

RIVER NORTH TRANSPORTATION

Transportation in River North is made easy due to the neighborhoods close proximity to the Loop and Chicago’s main business district. The Chicago Brown Line “L” Stop is at the intersection of Franklin Street and Chicago Avenue and the Chicago Red Line “L” Stop is only 5 blocks east on Chicago and State. Nearly every major bus line is accessible in River North but the main routes include the 66 bus along Chicago Avenue, the 11 bus along Ontario Street, and the 156 bus down LaSalle Boulevard.
