Dog Friendly Chicago Neighborhoods
Chicago is a pretty pet-friendly city. Nearly every neighborhood has at least one park that doubles as a play area and gathering point for neighborhood dogs and their owners. Indeed, pre- and post-work rendezvous’ are common in most of the city’s green patches. Several parts of Lincoln Park play host to dog gatherings for Gold Coast, Lincoln Park and Old Town pups on a daily basis and so, too, does Mennomenee Triangle. While Lincoln Park is the most obvious example of a venue for dog meet-ups because of its sheer size, every neighborhood, from West Town to Lincoln Square, has its own area known for pet gatherings and playtimes. Dog Parks
Wiggley Field, on Sheffield near Wrightwood, is a favorite dog park of many area residents. Not only do the dogs that frequent Wiggley Field come to be good friends with their playmates, but their owners also form bonds. A section of beach at Montrose is designated a dog beach. This sprawling area of sand and water is a special destination for pups and their owners. Dogs frolic and play while owners enjoy time under the sun.
While Wiggley Field and Montrose Beach are two of the most popular dog-friendly play areas in Chicago, the Chicago Park District has designated 13 other spots around the city as dog-friendly too.
