OLD TOWN ENTERTAINMENT & OUTDOOR AMENITIES

Old Town is perhaps most widely known for the Wells Street strip between North Avenue and Division. It’s here Chicagoans enjoy popular entertainment venues such as Zanies Comedy Club and the Red Orchid Theatre as well as numerous dining and shopping hotspots in the area. Italian restaurants Trattoria Roma, Topo Gigio Ristorante, and Orso’s Restaurant are all located on Wells Street and the enthralling aroma of Thai food fills the air around Tiparos Thai Cusine at 1540 N. Clark Street. Additionally, just north of North and Wells Street is the world-famous Second City Comedy Club where many famed comedians first got their start. If you’re more into the arts, the Old Town Art Fair is held annually every June which attracts thousands of visitors as nearly 250 artists put their work on display for one of the oldest art shows in the country. Old Town is also suitably located within walking distance to Lincoln Park and the Lakeshore Trail, making a walk in the park, a bike ride along Lake Michigan, or any other outdoor activity a breeze.

OLD TOWN TRANSPORTATION

Because Old Town is so close to the Loop and other downtown Chicago neighborhoods, plenty of public transit options are available to residents in the area. The Sedgwick Brown Line “L” stop sits just south of North Avenue and there is also a Red Line “L” stop at the corner of Clark and Division. The Division Street 70 bus conveniently runs through Old Town as well as the 72 bus route along North Avenue. Should driving be your choice of transportation, Lake Shore Drive is easily accessible from LaSalle Street in the northeastern portion of Old Town.
