Old Town Chicago Homes and Neighborhood
Old Town homes are in the heart of historic Chicago. This includes the Old Town Triangle which is a historic district, dating back to the original German immigrants who settled here in the mid 19th century. St Michael's Church, located in Old Town, is one of the few buildings in Chicago to have survived the 1871 fire.
Though the Old Town Triangle is generally affluent, the homes here aren't out of reach for home buyers. Most real estate in the Old Town area can be purchased for between $200,000 to $2,000,000 and most of the residents are families and professionals.
The shopping in Old Town is a unique experience with small boutiques and shops selling many different items with a flair for quality service.
The Old Town Art Fair is a popular annual event held each June since 1950. Live musical performances and over 250 artists’ work are the highlight to this festival and the proceeds go to support local neighborhood preservation.
Old Town home owners have a lot of recreation and relaxation opportunities. Lincoln Park Zoo is located only a few minutes north of Old Town and has over 1200 animals including a children's petting farm. The Old Town area also boasts a number of fabulous restaurants, including Italian, Greek, Japanese, French, and Mexican eateries. Old Town also supports many unique coffee shops as well.
The nightlife in Old Town consists of a variety of bars and nightclubs that range from the laid back Hobo's and Old Town Ale House to the more energetic Spoon where you can go to dance and meet new people. The area also has Zanies and Second City comedy clubs, as well as the Steppenwolf Theatre.
