Much of North Center is composed of traditional Victorian style architecture with scattered three- and four- flat condos or apartments. Most of the single family homes boast large backyards and detached two car garages while sitting on quiet tree lined streets. While many of the industrial loft buildings alongside Ravenswood Avenue are still used for commercial purposes, the residential demand for loft-style properties continues to increase property values. North Center has some of Chicago’s best dining and outdoor park space. When it comes to Cuban food, Café 28, located at 1800 W. Irving Park, has certainly been giving North Center locals something to brag about since its doors opened in 1995. NORTH CENTER TRANSPORTATION

The CTA Brown Line conveniently runs through the east end of North Center with a stop at Irving Park and Ravenswood. There’s also an additional brown line stop just north of this location at Montrose and Ravenswood. Major east/west CTA bus lines in North Center include the 80, which runs along Irving Park and the 78, which runs along Montrose. North/south CTA bus lines include the 50, which travels up and down Damen Avenue and the 11, which runs along Lincoln Avenue.
