New East Side Chicago
New East Side area residential properties are primarily a mixture of high-rise condos and row houses surrounded by parks, fountains, a children's playground, a dog park and much more. New East Side homes are also conveniently close to some fabulous Chicago landmarks like Millennium Park, Grant Park, Soldier Field, and Navy Pier.
Currently, most New East Side real estate is quite affordable with the median house values around $170 000 and ranging as high as around 1.75 million for some of the larger units in high-rise buildings. Homes in New East Side range from historical homes built in the 1930s to shiny new developments. New East Side is full of families and most of the homes reflect this by the profusion of mid-size homes in the area.

If you venture out of Chicago's New East Side for shopping, you'll find that you are close by to the Magnificent Mile as well as the Loop, giving you a variety of shopping choices at a range of prices.
For anyone looking for entertainment in New East Side, there are some great activities that happen in the parks in the area. There are concerts in the summer and the famous Taste of Chicago festival that takes place at the end of June and beginning of July each year at Grant Park located in New East Side.
For anyone with a primary interest in the arts, science, or history, The New East Side in Chicago is within walking distance of The Art Institute of Chicago, Orchestra Hall, the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, the museum campus, as well as the theatre district that is in and around the intersection of Randolph and State. During the summer there are the free concerts for all to enjoy in Millennium Park and Grant Park, and the Chicago Park District's free movie series always draws a crowd in summer.
Within The New East Side one may also find many fine dining establishments that are either stand alone restaurants or dining rooms within one of the many hotels in the neighborhood. One need not look very far to find a dinner option that serves as an alternative to preparing a meal at home. This is certainly true during the many summer festivals, particularly Grant Park's Taste of Chicago which takes place in The New East Side's front yard.
