Named for the largest Catholic university in the United States, DePaul has aided in sustaining Lincoln Park as one of the most desirable and well-to-do neighborhoods in all of Chicago. The DePaul neighborhood, a sub-community of Lincoln Park, is a small residential space of about ten square blocks and is appropriately centered on the DePaul University campus. DePaul is filled with charming brown- and gray-stone residences, multi-level townhomes, and just a few vintage style apartment buildings. The streets are lined with enormous, fully-mature trees and many of the buildings and homes are beautifully landscaped with ivy growing alongside each structure. Families love settling down around Lincoln Park and DePaul as the neighborhood boasts some of the best schools in the entire city. Real estate values certainly maintain a high value in DePaul as the average sales price for a townhome is about $575,000. Even the average sales price for a condominium is over $400,000 in DePaul but buyers are rarely concerned with the re-sale value in DePaul, which is often an added incentive for moving into the neighborhood.

Going for a jog or walking the dog in DePaul never gets old in the spring, summer, and fall months. The lush green space and quiet residential streets always seem so peaceful and even walking around in the winter is a treat, as much of the exquisite architecture is more noticeable without the leaves filling out the trees. And while more known for the relaxing residential qualities, the DePaul boundaries do contain a couple neighborhood taverns in the Birds Nest and the Southport City Saloon that are perfect for catching a ball game or a couple drinks after work. DEPAUL TRANSPORTATION

The nearest CTA “L” stops include the Fullerton Brown, Red, and Purple Line stop and the Diversey Brown and Purple Line stop, which are both just east of the DePaul boundaries. The CTA 74 bus runs east and west along Fullerton Avenue while the most convenient north/south bus for residents to use is the CTA 9, which runs along Ashland Avenue.
