More About Skybridge Condominiums
Uniquely, SkyBridge’s name is derived from the transparent gap in the middle of the building where a glass walkway links the two sections of the structure on every level. And, because this glass bridge is indented on both sides of the building, each floor has a total of 8 corner exposures. Importantly, SkyBridge was intentionally positioned on the eastern third of the building site, along the Kennedy, so as to ensure permanent and unbroken views of Chicago’s impressive skyline. The base of SkyBridge houses both a Dominck’s as well as a parking garage. The west side windows of the garage are something akin to the futuristic architecture of the 1960s. Other of SkyBridge’s unique features include a giant steel trellis with a concrete spine that extends from the roof and overhangs the north side of the building’s sundeck. Also, the main entrance is placed behind a forest of enormous columns which hold up the north side of the property.
While condos at SkyBridge come in a variety of sizes and layouts, one thing is sure, they are all large and luxurious. Replete with high-end finishes, SkyBridge condos provide a luxurious lifestyle for residents. Condos come stacked with GE appliances, Grohe faucets, full-sized washer and dryer, American Standard commodes, guest tubs, master whirlpools and solid-core doors. Some units also come with a gas fireplace, 9’ ceilings, marble flooring, granite countertops and recessed lighting. Breathtaking, panoramic skyline views are enjoyed from every condo. Other building amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center and a sprawling roof-top deck. A 24 hour doorman as well as a ground floor grocery store contribute to an ease of living for residents. Lastly, but certainly not least, SkyBridge is a pet-friendly building and, to ensure both pet and pet-owner satisfaction, SkyBridge provides its very own dog run.
Located just west of the Chicago River, SkyBridge is a true walk-to-work building. Residents also enjoy easy access to all of Chicago’s downtown shopping, dinging and entertainment venues. The West Loop itself contains a variety of popular restaurants, clubs, lounges, galleries and more. In particular, west Randolph Street is overflowing with trendy destinations, including some of the city’s hottest restaurants and galleries. The streets surrounding west Randolph are filled with fantastic nightlife spots, including trendy lounges like Lumen and Fulton Lounge, as well as hot clubs like Theatro. Should you choose to venture to other parts of the city, public transportation options abound.
