Randolph Place Condominiums

First constructed in 1917, Randolph Place has since been converted into residential condos and lofts in the Loop. Located on the edge of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, in the Fulton River District, Randolph Place boasts an interesting history. Found in Chicago’s former manufacturing district, this residential condominium development was designed by Daniel Burnham. Not only is Burnham credited with having built Chicago’s first high rise building, but he also received acclaim for having designed the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago.

While Burnham’s riverfront design at 165 North Canal was originally known as the Butler Brothers Warehouse, succeeding years saw this structure inhabited by a variety of offices and manufacturing warehouses including telephone company offices, the Canadian Northwest (CNW) railroad offices and even a catalogue warehouse. While Randolph Place was fully renovated in 1999 when it was converted to condominiums to ensure the best of contemporary amenities and fixtures, many of the finer points of the building were preserved as original bones. Its exterior brick facade, Tuscan arcading and 10’ ceilings have all been maintained, imbuing Randolph Street with character and a certain grandiosity. Uniquely, Randolph Street are, at once, a reminder of the area’s historical past as well as a fine example of the West Loop’s recent trend towards sophisticated, urban housing.

Randolph Place Building Amenities

Condos at Randolph Place are quite special. Grand and spacious, their 10’-15’ ceilings contribute to a sense of generous living space. As part of their renovation, many superior amenities were added to the building’s condos, including new oak hardwood floors and vent less gas fireplaces, to name a few. Private balconies provide a perfect venue from which to admire the sweeping views of Chicago’s impressive skyline and gorgeous river. A state-of-the-art fitness center and a 24-hour doorman contribute to an ease of living. And, animal-lovers will be happy to know, Randolph Place is a pet-friendly property.

Randolph Place Building Highlights

Randolph Place's allure is enhanced by its outstanding location. Located in the West Loop, some of Chicago’s trendiest restaurants are a few minutes’ walk away. West Randolph Street is lined with some of Chicago’s most popular dining destinations. Just off Randolph are a deluge of trendy lounges and nightclubs, so nightlife and entertainment are easily obtainable. Greek Town is also just a stone’s throw away and makes for plenty of fun excursions. Chicago’s Theater District, which includes the Lyric Opera, is also mere minutes away. Additionally, Randolph Place is a true walk-to-work building but, should a commute elsewhere be required, plenty of public transportation options abound.
